To officially kick off the celebrations, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline & Group commemorated UAE National Day with a cake-cutting ceremony at the Group’s Headquarters, viewed an Emirati local dance performance, and strolled through the heritage house. His Highness also unveiled a special collage consisting of 1,400 aircraft during the UAE National Day celebrations at EGHQ.

Sheikh Ahmed said: “UAE National Day is a time for people from all backgrounds to experience a glimpse of UAE culture. I am proud to see our Emirati and expat colleagues come together to celebrate the UAE’s spirit of patriotism and unity together on our 45th UAE National Day.”

Aiming to spread the spirit of national pride through community driven initiatives, the heritage house aims to showcase the UAE’s rich traditions and history. Employees and their families at Emirates Group Headquarters participated in the Emirati heritage bazaar that included henna art, Arabic calligraphy, handicrafts and local cuisine in addition to a special ‘selfie’ wall. An area for children for face painting and other activities helped keep children entertained throughout the celebration.
