It is proposed this new and exciting aircraft design and concept will be presented at the Dubai Air Show in November.

Work thereafter will focus on the development of the UDAV system incorporating CAe’s UAS technology and the generation of an aircraft to deliver ground‐breaking capability.

The UDAV aircraft will include a pilot 'in the loop' initially but progress to a largely autonomous capability.

Interest in the capability has already been expressed from overseas customers in the Middle East as part of initiatives to improve the security of sovereign airspace.

Cranfield Aerospace has considerable experience and expertise in applying highly innovative and 'disruptive' UAS technologies for security and defence purposes. Its ability to generate rapid prototypes of new concepts is well established around the world.

CAe’s Managing Director, David Gardner commented: “We are delighted to see this collaborative initiative with ECA programs to meet the increasing demand for highly innovative defence solutions in the export market.”
