Qatar Airways congratulates Germany on winning the FIFA Confederations Cup

Qatar Airways, the Official Partner and Official Airline of FIFA, has congratulated Germany on winning the final match of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 which took place Sunday night in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Qatar Airways was announced as the Official Partner and Official Airline of FIFA in May, as part of a ground-breaking sponsorship lasting until 2022. Upcoming FIFA events sponsored by Qatar Airways will include both the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Qatar Airways Group chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways is delighted to congratulate Germany on winning the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017. As the Official Partner and Airline of FIFA, we understand the power of sport in bringing people together – something at the heart of our own philosophy and core values.

“We are proud to support major sporting clubs and world-class events around the globe, including the Formula E electric car races in Paris and New York and the Sydney Swans. And of course, we are tremendously excited about the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in our home country, the State of Qatar.”
