German General Aviation operator and air ambulance specialist FAI rent-a-jet AG is marking another successful year as it closes its books on 2015.

The Nuremberg-headquartered company has recorded an operational income of approximately €80m, up on the 2014 figure of €73.5m.

The growth has been predominantly driven by a 37% increase in activity from the air ambulance division which generated revenue of €41.7m, compared with 2014’s €30.4m. In 2015 FAI`s dedicated fleet of air ambulances performed 747 missions to 400 destinations in 125 countries. In total the fleet flew around 3.7 million kilometers, which is the equivalent of flying approximately 100 times around the globe.

The company’s special mission services, operating on behalf of NGO´s in crisis areas around the world, generated revenues of €22.0m. This reflects an increase of 24% on the 2014 figures of € 17.8m. In total the FAI fleet flew more than 13,000 hours over the year.

For 2016 the management of FAI anticipates operational revenues will continue to demonstrate growth with an expected operational income of €90m to be achieved by year-end. The air ambulance division is anticipated to generate €50m, special mission services €25m, whilst another €15m will be driven by charter and aircraft management, MRO and FBO services.

“We are looking forward to celebrating FAI´s 30th anniversary at the end of 2016 together with the completion of our new Hangar 8, which will increase FAI´s hangar foot print to more than 9,000 m² in addition to 4,500 m² of offices and component shops. This will represent one of Europe´s largest FBO´s in General Aviation,” said Siegfried Axtmann, FAI´s chairman.
