Posted 9 September 2016 · Add Comment

For the seventh consecutive year, Embraer has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World Universe 2016/2017).

Based on the analysis of several sustainability metrics, the DJSI lists companies that stand out for their economic, social and environmental performance.

Embraer’s overall score increased for the third consecutive year (70 points in 2014, 73 last year and 78 now). The company’s score awarded to all three dimensions – economic, environmental and social – also grew, increasing in 13 of the 19 criteria analysed. According to this year’s list, Embraer is the benchmark in its segment in three items: innovation management, supply chain management and attraction and retention of talent, in which the company obtained the highest scores. Another highlight in 2016 was the improvement in the following criteria: business code of conduct, environmental reporting, human capital development, philanthropy and corporate citizenship.

The index lists 464 companies, and Embraer is one of the 11 Brazilian companies and one of five from the Aerospace & Defence sector, out of 34 eligible. The analysis is conducted by the Swiss sustainable investment company RobecoSAM, which invited over 3,000 companies of the S&P Global Broad Market Index from 59 sectors to take part in the evaluation.
