EgyptAir receives sixth Boeing 737-800 NG

EgyptAir has received the sixth of its nine orders of the B737-800 aircraft.

The sixth out of nine Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft that EgyptAir plans to acquire in 2017 has passed an official registration procedures to finally join the fleet that includes now 26 aircraft of the same type, and thus became the 66th aircraft of the fleet.

"We have steady goals to achieve regarding EgyptAir fleet and through this order of B737-800 NG, which to be finalised by the delivery of the ninth later this year, with an approximate age of six years," EgyptAir CEO said recently.

He added that the company is currently working on reviewing several transactions offered by major manufacturers and lease-funding companies in a bid to add 33 more aircraft of different types that will varies between short-, medium-, and long-haul planes, measures that come in accordance with the renewal plan the company adopts.

Musallam noted that this year the company will enhance the fleet by four others.

"We are working on an overall- plan that would enhance our medium-haul fleet, we managed to further develop our network, increase frequencies on the most popular routes, therefore, guarantee that all our passengers reach their destination on time," he concluded.
